Obituary of Robert Arnell Farrar

Robert Arnell Farrar – age 88, passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2016. An insurance adjustor early in his professional career, he later became a manufacture representative for Vanity Fair Corporation, from which he retired in 1985. Arnell was born and raised in Knoxville, and recently resided in Gatlinburg. In 1955 he graduated from the University of Tennessee, majoring in journalism. He was a member of Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity. For 11 years Arnell was a member of the Ready reserve of the United States Navy, serving six months active duty. He was preceded in death by his parents Professor Broadus F. Farrar and Harriette Arnell Farrar. Survived by his brother, William B Farrar, nephew David and wife Mina Farrar, grandniece Maya Farrar, all of Knoxville, niece Mrs. Patti Fournier, great nephew, Daniel and Nathan Carroll all of Kansas City, Kansas. Arnell’s Memorial Service will be 5:00pm Friday January 6, 2016 at Cedar Springs Presbyterian Church with receiving friends to follow. His family is forever grateful to the entire staff and nurses at Shannondale Assisted Living for the care, compassion and love given to Arnell.
