Obituary of Carolyn Joan Myers

Carolyn Joan Myers, age 81, passed away on December 19, 2018. A longtime member of Riverview Baptist Church, her faith in God was evident to all who knew her. Like the hummingbirds, which she loved, her beauty was unique. She had a smile that would light a room and a heart that was abundant with love. Her family meant the world to her. She bore 3 children with her husband of 60 years and was a strong role model to them and her 2 living grandchildren. They knew her arms were always open whenever they needed her. She was their rock that stood strong in the chaos of life. Her embrace meant safety. Her words meant hope. She was welcomed into heaven by her husband Roy Myers; parents Woodrow (Buck) and Alma Kirklen; brothers Carroll and Bill; sister Linda, daughter-in-law Debbie Myers; and precious granddaughter Rachel who has a lot of “Nana time” to catch up on. She will be deeply missed by her devoted sons R.L and Tim (Robin); beloved daughter Lisa; grandchildren Katelyn and Jonathan, sister/ partner-in-crime Sue (Mac), and a multitude of nieces, nephews, and special friends. Celebration of Life will be held at Riverview Baptist Church on Tuesday January 1, 2019 from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm with service to follow. Interment will be at East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery on Gov. John Sevier Highway, Friday January 4, 2019 at 11:30 am. The family would like to express their gratitude to her doctor and nurses at Fort Sanders Regional Emergency Room for everything they did during this difficult time.
