Obituary of Elmer LARRY Edwards

Elmer LARRY Edwards, 66, of Knoxville Tennessee died on January 3, 2017 at UT Medical Center due to complications of Crohn’s Disease and Kidney Disease. Larry was raised in Hartwell Georgia where his family has lived for many generations. Larry attended University of West Georgia where he met his loving wife of 44 years. After university, Larry went on to work for Transamerica where he thrived in the business world before taking disability leave. The Boy Scouts always held a special place in Larry’s heart and world and he was able to get even more involved than when he was working. It was his goal to make a difference in as many peoples lives as he could. Larry was also an avid fisherman and University of Georgia Bulldawg fan! Larry was an Eagle Scout and held many other achievements and awards in scouting as well as being a 4th degree Knight of the Knights of the Columbus. Larry is survived by his wife Sue Edwards of Knoxville, Son Greg Edwards of Denver Colorado, Daughter Kathleen Edwards of Bristol, England and extended family. Predeceased in death by his parents, Elmer and Annie Edwards of Hartwell, Georgia, Brothers Frankie Edwards and Marty Edwards of Hartwell Georgia. Funeral Mass will be held on January 21, 2017 at 10:30am at St. John Neumann Catholic Church with receiving of family and friends luncheon to follow. Burial at Pleasant Forrest Cemetery in Farragut Tennessee at 2:30pm. Donations can be made in Larry’s honor to St Vincent de Paul Society, C/O St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 633 St. John Court, Knoxville Tennessee 37934.
